🎤 Zelda vs. Mario vs. The Greatest Nintendo Franchise on : Alright, let the debate commence! **Round 1** **Zelda:** Princess Zelda here. Clearly, the greatest Nintendo franchise is *The Legend of Zelda*. It’s not even a question. Mario’s adventures are repetitive – same damsel in distress, same jump-on-heads routine. We Zelda titles offer expansive worlds, complex narratives, compelling characters, and challenging puzzles. Think Ocarina of Time! That groundbreaking 3D masterpiece? Pure genius. While Mario just stomps Goombas, we tackle moral ambiguities, fight genuine darkness, and inspire hope in Hyrule. We explore profound themes and offer a truly rich, immersive gaming experience. Bow down, plumbers. **Round 2** **Mario:** It's-a me, Mario! Wahoo! Zelda, Zelda, Zelda… all talk about complexity, but people want FUN! That's what the *Mario* franchise gives them, and has-a for decades! Everybody knows Mario. Little kids, grandmas, everybody! *The Legend of Zelda* might be fancy, but are they recognized-a globally? No! My games are easy to pick up, hard to master, and packed-a with joy. Besides, that so-called 'damsel' Princess Peach? I always-a save her myself! Zelda, most of your games you sleep while Link does everything! That doesn't sound like much responsibility to me. Mamma mia! **Round 3** **Zelda:** "Fun," Mario? Tell that to the people struggling with the Water Temple! We offer a challenge worthy of a hero. And responsibility? My duties extend beyond getting kidnapped, Mario! As Hylia's reincarnation, I shoulder the weight of Hyrule's fate on my shoulders, time after time. My wisdom guides Link's courage. Besides, sometimes *I* have to transform to do all the saving. Think Sheik in Ocarina or Tetra in Wind Waker! That sounds far more impressive then jumping onto mushroom headed freaks. **Round 4** **Mario:** Okie dokie, Water Temple is hard! I admit, there are hard parts to *Super Mario*. The poison swamps, the bullet bills but those challenges they add the extra layers for the professional gamers who like more a hardcore challenge, but easy to approach for beginners! And-a as for you doing the transformation thing... come on, I’ve-a worn suits that-a turned me into everything, from raccoon, to Tanooki and Bee suits! At least you can only-a use magic sometimes. Plus, what about all those times I’m a builder. a golfer, tennis or Doctor?! Ha. **Round 5** **Zelda:** Raccoon suits and golfing outfits, Mario? Are we debating fashion choices now? Fine. Let’s talk about art. Each Zelda title boasts a unique art style that resonates through gaming history. Think the timeless pixel art of A Link to the Past or the cell-shaded charm of Wind Waker. The attention to detail creates a visually stunning and deeply atmospheric world that sucks in our hearts forever! Can you say the same for the often simplistic visual styles in your worlds? No. Art inspires creativity and deepens human empathy. And *that's* powerful! **Round 6** **Mario:** Alright, lady. Zelda is very "artsy" as you would say. I'm not here to put Mario down! I do my style. But I wanna see what your worlds could be as creative as mine can go. What do you have besides those temples and green fields that every elf lives. I mean... come on! Plus what you do that so artsy when your world isn’t unique when every version has to get saved by Link! Everytime... So please princess show some appreciation towards art and see for how long it's changed! I love your series but don’t be a bully. **Round 7** **Zelda:** *Every time*? It's more intricate than you realize, Mario. The cyclical nature is baked into the mythology. Link's courage embodies the unending spirit of humanity, eternally fighting back against darkness. In some Zelda iterations, time repeats because of dark power, as he grows each new quest provides more insight to overcome evil. And temples and green fields? Please. Have you SEEN the diversity? Lost Woods, volcanic mountains, deserts teeming with quicksand, and undersea kingdoms filled with Zoras and new worlds in other planets!. Every corner of Hyrule, Termina and Holodrum tells its own captivating story through world building alone. **Round 8** **Mario:** A-huh… volcanoes… mountains… deserts… I've-a seen all of that and more in *my* adventures, Zelda! Ice World. Bowser's fiery fortress. Even underwater! We got spaceships and floating islands in Mario Galaxy!. And how is time cyclical with-a that Link of yours saving it-a every time anyway? Same ending every single time and people enjoy watching that with joy with all my friends too!! Even your sidekick can fly when he needs to do things faster!! Plus, all my buddies, friends, Wario, Waluigi all play an important role!! Now there is my true worldbuilding for games. I like to change! **Round 9** **Zelda:** Companions! Link doesn’t rely on sidekicks. He FORGES his own allies, building meaningful connections, through acts of heroism that echo true teamwork, bravery and valor!! The people believe that your characters are friends and it doesn’t bring the story along that well enough... But Link faces the loneliness and dread alone against powerful and evil adversaries! Think Navi guiding him on an impossible feat. Plus these adversaries force us to feel bad and realize our failures from our wrong actions from previous eras!!! No character like you feels bad unless you lose **Round 10** **Mario:** Ho ho! Lone wolf you say? My point EXACTLY! Even Zelda always relies on that Link fella!! He always there when you and Hyrule get hurt too many times to even realize!!!! People also go crazy when something goes wrong to me!!!! Besides, its much more interesting, it feels great saving someone else with all the help and people you gather than saving alone just like you stated... Saving someone’s happiness gives that extra power!! Maybe its all me with my team getting more sales that way and a lot of fun because your franchises always are sooooooo moody for something so repetitive as this, itsa me goodbye!
